We teach what we know but only reproduce who we are! That’s the reason why most people do not leave a legacy after they are gone!
The word for today is enriching!
This word implies a sense of abundance. When I think of a person who enriches me, I think of a person who improves my life.
This person improves my life mentally with what he says, and improves me at the level of experience sharing experiences from his own life.
Actually who enriches me makes me a better person!
Clearly we can not enrich if we don’t have something positive to share.
In fact we can not give to others something that we ourselves do not have!
Enriching means that I have something of value that I want to deposit in someone’s life: we teach what we know but we reproduce what others see that we do successfully!
So we can enrich people by giving an abundant perspective of life, placing in them the elements that add value to their potential.
Who we are enriching today? Who are the people we are laying the positive things we experience in our lives? What real actions that have borne fruit in our lives we are, intentionally, sharing with those less wealthy than us?
Enriching does not mean redistribute from the rich to the poor: enriching means sharing the principles that have enriched me with those who are not rich!
The true concept of wealth lies not in what we have but in who we are.
The best way to invest our wealth DOES NOT have as its main object the multiplication of what we own but OF WHAT WE ARE!
Let’s identify the right people who want and need to be enriched, revealing to them the principles that have changed our hearts, renewed our minds and marked our way of being and doing!
Enriching, adding value to those around us, should be the driving force behind everything we do!
The word for today is partner!
In today’s world this word is used in so many ways.
If people would have the right understanding of its meaning we would surely live in a better world!
What is then the true meaning of partner?
Once again lets go back to the Latin etymology of the word.
Pari, which means EVEN, and tenere, which means to HOLD.
PARTNER means to hold something with someone else.
It means that when we have a vision or a mission we choose another person to share and hold that vision with dividing up the responsibilities for the final success!
Partnerships today, on the contrary, are based on manipulations. We choose a partner in order to seek our own interest treating our partner as a mean to OUR END!
That is why in our world we have injustice and lack of equal rights.
From our family to our social circles, the wrong understanding of partnership has created an incredible gap where the ordinary and unprotected people have been wrongly treated!
As we face new partnerships, let’s seek the right partners. They are the ones who complement us and we complement them. They are the ones who see the final target the same way we see it. They are the ones who will give their life in order to hold tight our alliance which is the root of a real partnership!
How do the people around you see you as a partner? Do you feel like they think you are the boss and ultimately the only one getting something out of your partnership?
Once again, let me point out a model, the right one, that history has given us regarding true partnership.
This model has as partners God and us.
He created the world and its endless beauties but needed someone to share it with.
He gives the right principles to man and entrust him to execute His plan.
You might think that He manipulates us because is His plan that we execute and not ours!
Well that’s not right. It is like thinking that the principles we lay down for our children are our plans when the reality is that we lay those principles down for THEIR GOOD!
Partnerships include sacrifices. God sacrifices His only Son in order to sign a partnership with us. We repent of our manipulated partnerships and accept His offer to hold our life together with Him.
Our God is a sovereign partner who knows the end from the beginning. He is the only one to know how to use our given talents in order to accomplish our unique and lasting mission in this world!
Surely, if you think to have the right partnership and feel good about it, then this reflection is not for you.
But if you are tired of partnerships where you feel manipulated and wrongly used, then let’s start today with the right partnership with God and hold together with Him our destiny in life!
Partnership with God is not selective but available to all men!
What would be your reaction if Microsoft or Facebook or a big and successful company would offer you today the possibility to become one of their partners ?
Well God is way and exponentially more powerful and worth of our trust than those entities.
Today is the day of salvation!
Salvation is discovering who is our real and trustworthy partner.
His name? Jesus the Christ, the king of kings and the Lord of lords!
He will not impose on our partnership but leaves us the freedom to choose.
Personally I chose Him!
I hope you will do the same and you will see , finally, the reason for your existence in this wonderful world!
The word for today is patience!
The true leader does not reach the finish line first.
In fact, he refuses to cross the finish line alone. Let me be clearer: the leader does not refuse to cross the finish line BUT he refuses to do it alone!
This is not because he is not fast enough or trained to win but because the true meaning of its success is plow through the finish line with his team and not alone.
True leaders lead their team with them and make sure to get to the finish line TOGETHER refusing to win the race alone!
This is where patience comes into action.
Be patient, decrease your pace, encourage those behind and wait for the team to get to the finish line together.
I rather want to cross the finish line with my team than alone because if I arrive alone who will I celebrate my victory with?
The word for today is quality!
When I think of quality I always think of another word: SHORTCUT
I’ve always been a smart boy and I always managed to find the fastest way to achieve my goals.
I have, however, faced a crossroads where I had to choose between reaching the finish line or reaching my full potential.
The quality encourages us to go beyond the momentary success to fully develop our talents!
Human nature leads us always to achieve the maximum with minimum effort. This concept is one of the roots of the decline in both our personal and professional life.
Therefore let us transform our lives, our actions into high-quality performance!
We also must keep in mind that we will be judged not by what we have done but what we could have done!
Let us graft quality and excellence in our lives by fully developing our talents!
Motivation gives us the impetus to start but only the discipline in the quest for quality leads us to achieve our highest goals!
The word for today is dynamic!
When I think of a dynamic person, I think of someone who is engaging, enthusiastic, warm, caring, positive, charismatic and compelling!
We would all like to be dynamic people because the dynamic person is like a magnet that draws attention to himself and his projects.
Unfortunately not everyone has a dynamic personality and thinks that this is a handicap for his relationships .
Nevertheless, reflecting more deeply on the word dynamism, it turns out that being only dynamic is not alone sufficient for success!
The word that comes to mind alongside dynamism is RELIABILITY. In fact the majority of dynamic people, often, are not reliable!
Dynamism makes us enter into the heart of the people but is reliability and dependability that makes us remain in the hearts and sympathies of the people.
Being reliable means being honest , showing off what we really are inside!
Let us strive to be dynamic people but without reliability our every effort will be leading to an immediate success that will not last for long making our efforts vain!
To be is better than to do!
This is the reason why to Moses’ question to God “ Who are you”, He answered: I AM!
Dynamism + reliability = Positive influence that lasts for ever!
The word for today is to let go!
We live in a time of tension and anger.
This brings our society to have an aggressive attitude and to stir up reactions that hurt us first and then those who have hurt us!
Closely monitoring the behavior of people around us, it is easy to capture many wounds that affect their attitudes.
Everyone seems to have an answer to make justice and unleash their anger against the injustice received!
The real answer to the reactionary and often justified anger is LETTING GO, ignore and work on ourselves before we positively influence others!
What does it means to let go?
1. Letting go does not mean trying to change the person who has hurt us but to accept what that person did to us!
2. Letting go does not mean change the past but decide not to be strangled by it.
3. Letting go does not mean to blame others but face the truth even if it hurts.
4. Letting go does not mean to be dogmatic about the fact that we are right, but be open to learn and grow from failures.
5. Letting go does not mean finding simplistic solutions but learn to live with our questions so that we grow our character to find the right answers.
6. Letting go means choosing to forgive to live in the freedom of the present and the hope of the future.
7. Letting go is to change the negative effect of fear and have an attitude of love and hope for a better future.
The word for today is risk!.
An analogy is given to us from baseball. To win you need to move from base to base. Many people would like to have giant legs to keep one foot in the first base and put the other in the second. But it does not work so!
To win you need to take the risk, leaving first base and running to the second base and arrive there before your opponent.
Many wonder why, not taking any risks, they have nothing! Easy: no risk no reward!
There are 2 types of risks. The foolish risk and the wise one.
The foolish risk is when we embrace projects of which we know little or nothing about it.
The wise risk is when we put on the table all the elements that allow us to figure out whether the risk is within our reach. Above all we must ensure we have all the talents and resources to embrace the risk!
We must start with small risks and do not venture in risks beyond our reach.
One last thought: the fruit of the tree is always on the branch and in order to get it we must leave the trunk and stretch out on to the branch.
Many spend their life only attached to the tree and the only fruit they are the rotten ones that fall to the ground.
It’s time for some of us to take risks and grab the fruits before they rot and fall to the ground.
May this year be the year full of wise risks!
